Modern Slavery Statement
At INKEY, we believe doing the right thing isn’t optional - it’s the foundation of how we work. That includes making sure every person involved in our business, from our internal team to the farthest reach of our supply chain, is treated with fairness, respect, and dignity.
This statement is published in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out what we’re doing to help prevent modern slavery and human trafficking across our business and supply chain.
Our Approach
Transparency and integrity aren’t just nice words - they’re how we do business. We’ve built our brand on honesty, and that includes how we treat people.
We’re committed to staying people-first at every level. That means working proactively to spot, prevent, and act on any risks of modern slavery - in our offices, with our suppliers, and across our entire ecosystem.
Who We Work With
Our team includes permanent employees, agency support, and a few trusted contractors. We sometimes bring in extra hands via agencies, but only when we’re confident the working conditions are safe, respectful, and fair.
Every new supplier goes through a detailed vetting process. We ask the tough questions up front to make sure their values line up with ours - and we don’t move forward unless they do.
We only partner with businesses that:
- Meet our high ethical standards
- Commit to our INKEY Code of Conduct
- Sign our New Supplier Form (which includes our anti-slavery commitments)
If something doesn’t feel right, we ask more. If it still doesn’t sit right, we walk away. No compromises.
How We Assess Risk
We know that risks vary depending on the type of work, location, and industry. That’s why we assess each supplier individually - looking at real evidence, not just words.
We expect our partners to:
- Run their own risk assessments
- Monitor their supply chains
- Take swift, honest action if issues come up
Our onboarding questions, policies, and contracts are reviewed regularly to stay up to date with best practice and legal standards.
Who’s Responsible
While our Board holds ultimate accountability, the day-to-day work sits with our:
- Chief Operating Officer (COO)
- Head of Procurement
- Head of Sustainability
- Head of HR
They make sure our anti-slavery policy is more than just a document - they oversee checks, ensure our processes work, and handle any issues.
Training Our People
Every team member signs our Employee Handbook, which includes our expectations around modern slavery and human rights. We review and update this quarterly.
This covers:
- What modern slavery can look like in real life
- What to watch out for
- How to report concerns safely and clearly
Our aim is simple: everyone at INKEY should feel confident spotting red flags and empowered to speak up - whether in a factory, a call, or a supplier visit.
Our Values in Action
At INKEY, we ask hard questions, make hard decisions, and hold ourselves - and our partners - accountable. We won’t tolerate modern slavery in any form, in any part of our business.
We’re doing the work to make sure of it. Because people always come first.
